Reverse Cognitive Decline, Even in APOE4 Carriers

Reverse Cognitive Decline, Even in APOE4 Carriers

A recent trial suggests that DHA supplementation can improve cognitive health in individuals with the APOE4 gene, a genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease. Although the supplement didn't impact hippocampal volume, higher DHA levels were linked to better cognitive performance in APOE4 carriers. These findings underscore the importance of early intervention, offering hope for those at higher risk of dementia. More research is needed to refine treatment strategies.
